The Farne Islands

The Farne Islands are a group of rocky outcrops off the Northumberland coast. They are probably the most exciting seabird colony in Britain and every summer they host over 100,000 breeding birds.

I've just got back from spending two days on and around the islands and I'll be blogging about the trip over the next couple of weeks... after I've sifted through some 1,500 hundred photos!

I took trips out and around the islands with Billy Shiels and more information about the islands can be found on the National Trust web site.

I knew the birds were confiding... I knew to wear a hat too... but I didn't quite expect this.
